Erik Hagen
Managing Partner
Erik is Managing Partner and founded Viking Venture in 2001. He holds an MSc in Computer Science from the Norwegian Institute of Technology and has an MBA from INSEAD, France.
With a background from McKinsey & Company, Erik has been VP Marketing (distribution) in NetCom GSM ASA, CEO in Schibsted Nett and Scandinavia Online, and a partner in Arthur Andersen. He has broad experience from ICT and oil and gas, with strong industrial, financial and political networks both in Norway and abroad.
He chairs the board of Nordic Venture Network, which represents the leading venture capital firms in the Nordic countries. For many years, Erik has also served as vice-chairman of the board of the Norwegian Venture Capital Association.

Jostein Vik
Partner
Jostein is partner and cofounded Viking Venture in 2001. He holds an MSc in Business from the Norwegian Business School. Jostein has a background from business development and M&A in Carlsberg Breweries, Lilleborg, Orkla Media and Orkla ASA.
Through his work with developing and exiting growth companies Jostein spends periods and has lived in Palo Alto, CA. This competence and network gives the Viking Venture portfolio companies an insight and platform of establishing partnerships in Silicon Valley.
His sight for business strategy and commercialization has contributed to turn innovative ideas into reality, and will do it again.
He was formerly on the board of directors on the Norwegian Venture Capital Association (NVCA), a trade association representing the venture capital industry in Norway

Hege Kristine Kvitsand
Chief Financial Officer
Hege is CFO in Viking Venture and runs Investor Relations, financial due diligence and financial reporting and control. Hege holds a Master of professional Accountancy from the Norwegian Business School. 10 years of audit experience from Ernst & Young and Systemrevisjon has given her an extensive experience from auditing and consulting growth companies in the Nordic countries.

Joar Welde
Partner
For over 10 years Joar has worked with international oil and gas service technology companies. He has a broad industrial, financial and political network.
During the years 2012 to 2014 he worked with innovative oil and gas service technology companies from Viking Venture’s office in Houston.
Joar holds a BBA from the Norwegian Business School and an MBA from University of Warwick in UK. He is a member of the Oiltech Investment Network (OIN) committee.

Eivind Bergsmyr
Partner
From 2002 to 2009 Eivind ran the startup company Nacre AS, growing it into a world leader in communication and hearing protection headsets for defense, security and industrial markets with particular success in the US. As CEO he was instrumental in selling the company to Honeywell in 2007 for 125 mUSD. The exit was honored with the title Nordic Venture Exit of the Year 2007. Recruiting outstanding staff through networking and strategic insight is one of his recipes of success.
Eivind holds a M.Sc. degree in electronics engineering from The Norwegian University of Technology and Science, NTNU. He has additional education from the Norwegian Business School (BI), MBA-level management training from Siemens in Germany and venture capital education through the prestigious Kaufmann Fellowship in California where he is the only Norwegian Fellow.
During 2014 and 2015 he lived and worked in Houston, Texas. He is currently on the board of directors of the Norwegian Venture Capital Association (NVCA).

Magnus B. Willumsen
Investment Manager
Magnus joined Viking Venture as Investment Manager in 2016. He holds an MSc in Industrial Economics and Technology Management from NTNU in Trondheim and Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He has also served as Sergeant in the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Magnus has extensive buy-side and sell-side M&A and corporate finance experience from Fondsfinans, the oldest independent investment bank in Norway. He has advised some of the leading Norwegian corporations on strategy and operational excellence as management consultant at BearingPoint, a client focused management consulting firm.
