ReVolt Technology Selected as a Nordic Cleantech 50 Leader
Staefa, Switzerland, May 5, 2009 – ReVolt Technology, a technology company, which has developed a rechargeable zinc-air battery, today announced that it has been chosen as a Nordic Cleantech 50 Leader.
On April 30, 2009, The Cleantech Group™, LLC, founders of the cleantech sector and providers of leading global market research and financial services for the cleantech ecosystem, in partnership with Cleantech Scandinavia, the leading Nordic network of investors in cleantech, released a first ever report identifying 50 leading cleantech companies in the Nordic market. The report, sponsored by leading Nordic VC firms BankInvest, Energy Capital Management, Eqvitec Partners, Northzone Ventures, and Sustainable Technologies Fund, identifies key representatives of Nordic excellence in Cleantech innovation, as well as outlining the driving sectors and key concerns facing this emerging region. The full publication can be downloaded from Cleantech Group’s Cleantech Scandinavia’s websites free of charge.
"Whilst the current economic climate has given rise to some valid concerns over the potential for investment into cleantech, there are promising signs that this relatively inexperienced market will flourish in the years to come," said Magnus Agerström, Cleantech Scandinavia. "The companies taking part in this year’s report all demonstrate commitment to placing the Nordics at the forefront of innovation in the cleantech sector."
ReVolt’s zinc-air, rechargeable battery technology provides a high energy solution for consumer and industrial market applications that is environmentally safe, reusable and recyclable. Revolt’s zinc-air technology offers up to three times the energy density of lithium-ion in an inherently safe package representing a major leap forward and compelling value proposition for energy-hungry devices.
"The ReVolt Technology team is indeed honored to receive this inaugural award from such respected industry thought leaders and visionaries," stated James P. McDougall, CEO of ReVolt Technology. "We are grateful for the selection committee’s decision to include ReVolt Technology as one of the top 50 cleantech companies in the Nordic region."
